Wanted : Michigan K-12 educators working in a classroom setting to participate in the #GoOpen Michigan/Collabrify opportunity. Learn about #GoOpen Michigan and Collabrify, then create instructional resources. This two-day event will build your comfort with finding, using and/or creating open educational resources, and then implementing them in your core curriculum area to create lessons that meet the needs of your students. What’s This Breakout EDU Box Thing? Breakout EDU - a new fad or a valid method for learning? It’s hard to know until you experience one for yourself.  This workshop will begin by dividing into teams whose challenge is to break into a Breakout EDU box.  It sounds simple, but will require teamwork, creative problem solving, and thinking outside the “box” to accomplish the breakout. 2017 MACUL Conference - Adding Pre-Conference Sessions to your Registration

If you have already registered for the 2017 MACUL Conference, and would like to add a preconference session on Wednesday to your registration, use the following steps: 1. Go to the registration site . 2. Login with the account you used previously to register for the conference.  You must use the same account! 3. Note a new window at the top will tell you that you are already registered for the conference, but you may add workshops (pre-conference sessions) by going through the process again.  (You would use these same steps to make any modifications to your registration.)  4. Click Next on the first screen with your contact information  5. Click Next on the next screen about Membership  6. On the next screen, pre-conference workshops are now an option  7. FREE workshops on Making in Michigan Libraries

Great opportunity from the Library of Michigan!  From Karren Reish-   Making in Michigan Libraries hits the road from May – August, visiting ten Michigan communities to talk with participants about building maker momentum in their libraries, schools, troops, organizations, and neighborhoods. Educators, librarians, scouting troop leaders, 4-H leaders, Boys and Girls Club mentors, and others wishing to build or expand their maker programming are welcome to attend.  All workshops are free, though lunch is on your own. #CISD Inspire Workshops on Relevant topics that involve Education & Technology Our next #CISD Inspire workshop will be May 19 on the topic of educational records.   This workshop will focus on many aspects of educational records - what they are, the laws about them, and protection & retention practices.  One portion of the workshop will be a refresher on FERPA.  We encourage REMC12E districts to send a team to this workshop as this topic impacts so many district roles. For more information, please refer to this flyer .  This workshop is free for educators from REMC12E School Districts (in Branch and Calhoun counties).

PD - MI Moodle Mott January 8 & 9

Registration is open for the MI Moodle Moot 2015, hosted at Mid Michigan Community College in Mount Pleasant on Thursday, January 8 (preconference workshops) and Friday, January 9 (Moot).  Sessions are available for Moodle users of all levels - those new to teaching online and blending instruction with Moodle, veteran Moodle using instructors, and Moodle administrators.  Registration is $40 per day.
